George Town Community Events
- George Town Farmers Markets: These are held every second Sunday of the month from 9am to 1pm at the George Town Memorial Hall. Local producers showcase their fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and beverages.
- Meander With Me: This is a community walking group that meets every Wednesday at 10am at the George Town Neighbourhood House. The group walks around George Town and surrounding areas, promoting physical activity and socializing among members.
- George Town Book Club: Meets monthly at the George Town Library to discuss popular and stimulating books.
- Cinema Under the Stars: A free outdoor movie screening event held annually during summer at Regent Square. Bring your picnic blanket and enjoy a family-friendly movie under the stars.
- Relay For Life: A team fundraising event for Cancer Council Tasmania held every two years at Memorial Park. Participants walk or run around a track, showing support for cancer survivors and remembering loved ones lost to the disease.
- George Town Spring Festival: An annual celebration of spring held in October, featuring live music, street performers, food stalls, a family fun run, and fireworks.
